The public figure I want to choose to analyze is Julie Bishop, who showed up in the ABC program Q&A on March 4. Julie Bishop is the Deputy Leader of the Opposition and shadow minister for foreign affairs in Australia now. Christine is the first woman to lead a political party in Tasmania. She is known on social media for her withering stare.
In this essay, I will analyze Julie’s performance in Q&A program and also compare it to Julie’s other performances publicly in social media. What’s more, I can give some my recommendations according to the theoretic knowledge and the feelings of myself.
This talking show was about refugees and women on campus. And it was a political issue about the opposition. The audience asked the question that why the opposition took actions by vilifying refugees instead of using effective ways to protect the women who were easy to get hurt and why they just couldn’t admit it was an appeal for an election campaign to underlying racist sentiment. Julie, as the representative of the opposition, answered the question and also, other guests also joined the discussion and argued with her about this problem and her answer. Actually, she didn’t do well in this show and we will analyze this.
Still, I also choose another interview to show her interaction with others to compare with this show. In this interview, she had a good performance in the social media.
