It is argued that in order for children to understand that people with disabilities or individuals from ethnic backgrounds are different but shouldn't be treated differently and are equal to everyone else. Children should be able to see and explore these differences, by meeting people who are disabled or who come from different backgrounds. That why it is important that our schools include children from these categories in their classes and that they don't tiptoe about the subject. The introduction of the Every Child Matters framework (2004) and the focus on personalized learning in all sectors of education have also made placed this high on the educational agenda.
